PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
I have bought sim free iPhone 6S in Walmart, US, recently, but planned to use it within overseas carriers.
During the payment in Walmart I was asked what carrier will phone be used on? But since I haven’t decided yet which carrier / plan will be most suitable for me I asked them not to define carrier at that moment.
Now, I am in Europe and I have sim card by specific carrier and when I turned my iPhone and try to register it on network, it states SIM NOT VALID.
QUESTIONS:
1. Is it possible to assign carrier to this iPhone at this moment – yes or no?
2. If yes:
– who MUST do it?
– what is the cost of doing it?
– what is the procedure to do it (is it done only via website contact of apple or retailer or iPhone needs to be shipped directly to the responsible party)?
3. If no – what to do next? Any ideas?
Of course, if more details are needed (imei, carrier name, country) I will post them…
